Alison and Al, all three of us have had the most wonderful stay. The Waiting Room has offered us the most perfect sanctuary of which we have been particularly grateful for in such uncertain times. You have the most wonderful attention to detail and your hosting has been second to none. Moss the B.T. has loved running around the gorge and Hadrian's Wall, so much so that he even afforded us a few lie ins ! Can't wait to return ! xx
Christine and Jim, Ilkley, Leeds - 06/03/2020

It began with a warm and friendly welcoming from our lovely hosts, Allan and Alison. A welcome pack of bread, milk and some delicious biscuits were waiting for us. What a beautiful and comfortable place. Very tastefully kitted out and in keeping with its original use. We visited Hexham, the nearest town. Also Housesteads, Hadrians wall area and Corbridge which was our favourite place. We walked from the waiting room to Allendale, which was 3.1 miles away, had some tea and scones in The Tea Room. We decided to walk along the river on the way back which turned out to be a bit of a detour due to some of the eroded pathway caused by the recent floods. Turned out to be nearly 11 miles we walked that day. Still enjoyed it. Our 3 day stay passed so quickly because we enjoyed it so much.
